Stress is a significant issue among university students, especially those with low Grade Point Average (GPA). Low GPA can act as both a cause and a consequence of unmanaged stress, creating a worsening cycle. Various stressors such as academic demands, social relationships, family expectations, and the learning environment can affect students’ psychological conditions and impact academic function, behavior, and physical health. Therefore, understanding the types of stressors, stress levels, and the impacts and strategies used by students is important to develop appropriate interventions..This study used a mixed methods approach. The quantitative component involved 36 respondents selected through purposive sampling, while the qualitative component included in-depth interviews with 9 participants. Most students experienced moderately severe stress (58,3%), severe stress (27,8%), moderate stress (11,1%), and mild stress (2.8%). The most dominant stressor was academic related stressor (ARS). Spearman test results showed that all stressor variables had significance values (p) > 0.05, indicating no significant relationship between types of stressors and stress levels, although all correlation coefficients showed a weak positive direction. Interview findings revealed stress impacts on sleep, eating patterns, emotions, concentration, and social interaction, as well as coping strategies such as eating favorite foods, spending time with close people, increasing learning motivation, and improving time management. Students with low GPA experience high stress levels dominated by academic stressors. Although no statistically significant relationship was found, the positive correlation direction indicates that increased stressors may still elevate stress levels.
